In order to perform well on Step2 CS the candidate should be able to:
1. Be able to communicate clearly with the standardized patient(SP)
2. Demonstrate appropriate bedside manner throughout the interaction with the SP
3. Clearly document the interaction between the physician and the SP
Online course: At Premier Review we have 60 live recorded cases that contain high yield clinical scenarios. These cases are designed by our faculty and the SPs are real patients and actors. The student interviews the SP and this interaction is recorded. The interaction is then reviewed by the faculty. There is a detailed discussion between the faculty and the student, to help the student work on areas that need improvement. The course is accompanied with 350 pages of notes. The notes include relevant questions that can be asked by the physician, comprehensive patient notes, possible differential diagnosis and diagnostic procedures. The notes are comprehensive yet concise and will be mailed via USPS(please do not activate the course until you receive the notes)
About USMLE Step 2 CS
The Step 2 Clinical skills exam is a part of the USMLE that tests candidates on their ability to apply clinical acumen. This includes the ability to make decisions based on the candidate’s communication with the patient and the right emphasis given to preventative medicine. There are 12 cases with maximum of 25 minutes are allotted to each case (15 minutes for the encounter and 10 minutes for patient notes).
